Installation Guidelines
Installation Steps:
Mount the meter
Mount the battery
Weld the bung in your pipe
2 stroke: The bung needs to be mounted within 4 inches of the cylinder or the sensor will not get hot enough to obtain a proper reading.
4 stroke: The bung can be mounted anywhere in the head pipe. We suggest it mounted so it sits close to the carb. This allows for the wire to be ran next to the throttle cables for a clean look.
Install the O2 sensor
** Do not put anything on the sensor threads. They are supplied with antiseize from the factory. Any foreign material on the sensor may cause false readings.
CAUTION!
1. The oil from a two stroke will foul the sensor and cause a false rich reading. It should be used to tune and then removed.
2. Leaded fuel will also foul the sensor and cause a false rich condition.
3. An engine that is burning excessive oil from worn rings will also foul the sensor causing a false rich condition.
4. The air injection pump on newer 4 strokes needs to be plugged while tuning to get a proper sensor reading.
